As most of you know, I have been happily waving my geek flag for a while now. Recently, I designed a t-shirt that celebrated my love of Dungeons & Dragons and I shared it on a Facebook page of like minded critters (definition: followers of Critical Role, an actual-play D&D show led by Matthew Mercer, Dungeon Master extraordinaire). The response was fantastic! One thing led to another and Silverwing Armoury was born! The Armoury will be your source for your gaming essentials, geek apparel, and nerdy necessities. Designs will include my own hand-drawn sketches and digital artwork inspired by all manner of geek things. Obviously, my own Harry Potter fandom will be represented— as will Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, D&D, the Kingkiller Chronicles, and who knows what else! Stop by for a look-see, why dontcha?

It seems like late 2017 and into 2018 has been the year of weddings amongst my close friends. So I have been busy chatting with them to create invitations and other graphic design goodies for them that capture their unique spirits.
There is something pretty magical about a fresh new baby coming into the world; especially if the baby will be birthed by one of your oldest and dearest friends.
As always, I continue to be the resident graphic designer for the Huntsville Theatre Company and assisted them with their rebrand in late 2017. They continue to up the ante in providing professional quality year round live theatre in Muskoka and I am so proud to continue to be a part of that journey.

As a designer, sometimes you're asked to do a really fun project... one that you've never tried before, but that you're pretty stoked about anyway. This was one of them. A close family friend asked me to design some word art celebrating her and her hubby's 10th wedding anniversary. She provided the words, I provided the art. Here's to love and all the experiences that come with it!
What is the one thing you absolutely want visitors to your website to experience? Do you want them to be able to book appointments, do you want them to see examples of your work, do you want them to buy your handmade wares? The answer to this question is critical to determining the focus and feel of your website. It keeps things pointing in one direction and allows you to have a design touchstone. When Aira (ARD Coaching) approached me to redesign her website, she knew right away that she wanted her website to serve as a place where potential clients could gather some basic information about her services and then choose to book an initial consultation with her. Having a clear vision of what she wanted her website to feel like from the user's perspective made things nice and smooth during the design process.

ENLIVEN is now officially up and running!
I have been a busy little bee since Christmas holidays. Aside from work and shuttling my son around to his various extra curricular activities, I have been co-directing a play going up in March! (It's ok--it's one of those things that feeds my soul, so it's purely fun for me.) However, I feel that I have been remiss in posting about what I've been up to. So here is a peek at the evolution, part 2, of the Enliven website. Please take moment to check out their upcoming spring programming and support this worthy organisation by participating, volunteering your time, or donating.

There is just something about good local theatre. Muskoka is certainly not wanting for talent, let me tell you. It was a pleasure to be able to design a website for the Dragonfly Theatre Company. they specialise in dinner theatre and their catering will be done by Chef David Friesen from Riverwalk Restaurant and the new Pasta Tree & Smokehouse. Check out what's playing and do yourself a favour and go see their next show! You can purchase your tickets and select your desired entrée right on the website.

Enliven is one of my larger clients with whom I will be working with for some time. I thought I would post a summary of some of the projects I have been doing for them since we started our journey together. I love being involved in a worthy cause, especially one that I know is filling a huge gap in our community. Enliven is a place where people can learn and practice self care, living well with a cancer diagnosis. Their services and programs also support their caregivers. I am honoured to be a part of the establishment of this worthy not for profit.
PS: Happy holidays, everyone! I plan on being off grid for about 2 weeks in order to spend Christmas and New Year's with my family.

"Can you make it look like a Victorian gentleman's calling card?"
Absolutely! It's exciting to work on something a little outside of the box. Not only did I ensure that it was visually what my costumier friend wanted, but I ensured that the cardstock that it was printed on made a statement about her business too—weighty enough to be noticed, but unassuming enough to not be snobbish.
